The Burn Your Heart Needs
Burning Man, from arrival to Exodus — all Ten Principles in thirty-three haiga.
Burning Man, from arrival to Exodus. It opens on the playa — a place to be who you are — and on the title’s promise: you don’t get the Burn you want, you get the Burn your heart needs. From there the order walks through the Ten Principles, one camp at a time: inclusion, civic responsibility (light up your bike), self-reliance, gifting, decommodification, self-expression, communal effort, participation, immediacy. Then the burns — dancing in the Man’s ashes until morning, the Temple and its silence. The last haiga are the long drive home: matter out of place, a default world that can’t quite understand, and the knowledge that you will never see yourself the same way again.
