Silicon Minds
Humans and the machines we keep building.
Humans and the machines we keep building. It starts close to home — the phone by the bed — and then asks the question in the title poem: will silicon minds ever wonder if carbon ones were self-aware? The first half is screens, feeds, and data, with a comedy of robots worried about their own jobs. At the midpoint the tone turns inward: think for yourself, guard your attention, notice the loneliness under all the noise. The last stretch leaves the machine behind for what it can’t replace — fires with friends, one another, a single breath, and stars that are watching back.
