Hated for What You Are

The self, roaring out its own truth.

No. 1933 haiga4:33
From the curator

The self, roaring out its own truth. It opens behind a facade, on the inner child hiding there, and then asks the title question: would you rather be hated for what you are, or loved for what you aren’t? The first half is the long argument with yourself — ego, comparison, other people’s opinions, the nail that stands out and gets hammered down. The turn comes with a simple question: are you running toward something, or away from it? From there the poems build, one step at a time — thoughts become words, then actions, habits, character, destiny. It ends on ownership: you are the only one who cares about your dreams, so make them happen.
